NEW FO!

I feel like it’s been SO LONG since I’ve had an FO!  And this one is pretty small–

I knit myself some fingerless mitts!

I simply LOVE them. The yarn is from Ingrid who lives in New Hampshire and hand dyes these beautiful yarns and then sells them to my super sweet class mate so she can give them to me on my birthday! I’m not sure what the fiber content is, but I’m pretty sure it’s alpaca and I LOVE IT. Perfectly soft, beautiful colors= LOVE.

I am definitely going to write up a pattern for these. Mostly because they were so simple and I can still remember everything I did! They are ribbed with a irish moss stitch palm for sturdiness.

They are going to be with me all Winter!

I don’t know if I can pull of this gorgeous Graphic Camelia Cocktail Hat by Emilliner.  I’d love to try, though.

I love that this English Garden Headpiece by Little White Dresser can also be worn as a headband.  The roses are so gorgeous!

GASP!  This royal blue cloche by Behida is AMAZING!  It’s making me wish that I was being a flapper for Halloween!

Our new kitty!!

We inherited a new kitty last Sunday! Her name is Cleopatra, and she is a very sweet, very fluffy kitty!

Welcome Cleopatra!

Queen Elizabeth and Cleopatra have only met once, and It was a pretty promising meeting.  Neither was overly hostile, and I’m hoping they become friends (or at least indifferent roomates) soon!  Queen Elizabeth is constantly looking up towards my studio which is Cleopatra’s safe room, and Cleopatra seems to always want to get out.  Tonight we are having their second meeting.  I can’t wait to see what happens!!  (I’ll try to get some better pictuers then!)

Rhinebeck!

I can’t believe a week and a half has alreayd gone by!- Rhinebeck was so much fun this year eventhough it was very cold and raining on Sunday. 

Unlike years past (I’m looking at you ‘07) It was perfect knitwear weather- perfect, I have to wear a hat, scarf, and mittens because it’s so cold weather.

On Saturday, Jessie wore her -”It’s been in a closet for a year because I can’t figure out what to do with the button issue” sweater. It’s Emerald by Amy Swenson btw.

We saw a ton of sheep and alpacas! We even visited the goat tent his year!

And like every year- there was so much yarn.


I bought less than I usually do this year. A LOT less. As I’m sure you can tell by my blog, I’ve been knitting a lot less, and I haven’t knit up a lot of the yarn I bought last year! Of course, a lot less than I bought last year is still quite a lot of yarn!

OH! And we met Flint Knits! A new north shore friend!! Clara Parkes touched my sweater!!!!

The Ravelry party was so much fun!!  It was a lot warmer this year, and the cupcakes were EVEN CUTER- if that’s possible! 

While waiting for the bus we got to hang out with Bob/ Ysolda!

We were yarny ready! We got coats too- we were ready for a chilly night!

It seemed like there were a lot more people there this year. The tents looked so beautiful!

During the party we knit of course! That’s my fingerless mitt mingling with the sweater Jessie is working on!

A cupcake for the road!

The Ravelry meet ups were super fun even though Sunday’s was very damp.

This is us on Sunday- We both wore our February Lady Sweaters on Sunday.  Jessie’s wearing a cabled hat that I made her, and an entrelac scaf she made a few years ago.  I’m wearing my Rhinebeck scarf  (the yarn was purchased at the first Rhinebeck Jessie and I went to together and completed for our second Rhinebeck),  a Porom, and a Calorimetry that Jessie knitted for me a while back.

Enough already you say?  What did I buy?

Dyed Leischester Longwool Locks from Hopping Acres- I’m planning on making some felted fingerless mitts with these on the edges. I’m pretty excited about it!

I LOVE everything Moving Mud makes and I was not allowed to buy anymore of their buttons because I have such a large stash of them at home, but when we were on our way out on Sunday I found a loophole! SHAWLPIN! Now I just have to knit a shawl for myself!

Yarn!  Shetland Supreme One Ply Goassamer from Jamieson and Smith, 2000 yards of Chaco worested weight wool from The Little Barn, and solo silk and some sale yarn from Brooks Farm.

Very fun and successful Rhinebeck!!  Can’t wait till next year!  I’ll have to work harder to knit up all the yarn I have!!

Because this weekend is Rhinebeck, I think we should look forward to what I am going to do with all of the awesome yarn that I’m going to get there!

I really need to knit myself a shawl.  I love how this one is made to stay on your shoulders.  This seller also sells kits!

Jasper Wrap by Sadie and Oliver

I LOVE the collar on this wrap.  This would be perfect for a crisp fall walk!  We’re apparently skipping fall this year, but next year it would be lovely!

I can’t wait to knit this adorable Pug with an Anorak by Fuzzy Mitten!!!   HE IS SO ADORABLE!  And he even has a curly tail!  GOSH!  She has so many cute patterns!

It’s that time again!

Rhinebeck is this weekend!! HOORAY!! I’m so ready for a yarn extravaganza! Are you going? Did you knit a sweater? I didn’t finish mine, but it’s going to be so cold I’m going to wear my wool jacket anyway!

Or I could just snuggle with the alpacas to keep me warm!
